Golden Globe-Winning Actress Lady Gaga Was the Most Talked About Star of the Night
It must suck to be a Lady Gaga hater in 2016, because the Lady just won’t stop winning.
ABC News reports that Gaga was the most tweeted-about celebrity at the 2016 Golden Globes last night (Jan. 10, 2016). Over the course of the evening, more than 4.4 million tweets about Gaga were sent out into the world, with her win for her role as The Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel being the most popular moment, specifically. This just goes to show that, despite what some bitter people would have you believe, the general public still cares very much about the award-winning musician and (now) actress.
Gaga remained a topic of conversation throughout the night due to her elegant red carpet look (she was the top trending red carpet celebrity, as well), her presenting appearance alongside Tom Ford, her brush with Leonardo DiCaprio, her win, and her announcement in the press room that her fifth album will release sometime this year. DiCaprio’s win for The Revenant was the second-most discussed moment of the night. Mr. Robot taking the Globe for Best TV Show: Musical or Comedy followed in third.
Back on the red carpet, Jennifer Lawrence was the second most-tweeted celebrity, and Katy Perry was the third. Overall, Lawrence and DiCaprio were the second and third most talked about celebrities, respectively.
If the first two weeks are any indication, 2016 will maybe be the biggest year of Gaga’s career yet. Are you ready for the slayage?
