WATCH: Madonna Honors David Bowie, Performs ‘Rebel Rebel’ on Rebel Heart Tour

Madonna paid tribute to the late music icon David Bowie on her Rebel Heart tour.

The 57-year-old singer rocked out to Bowie’s classic “Rebel Rebel” onstage at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, Jan. 12 in front of two projected throwback photos of him.

“Paying tribute to my favorite Rebel,” she wrote on Twitter. “Thank you! David Bowie.”

Madonna was vocal about her devastation in the wake of Bowie’s passing on Sunday, Jan. 10. She penned a long post on Facebook describing how he changed her life forever when she snuck from home to attend his concert as a young girl growing up in Michigan.

“We got caught after and I was grounded for the summer. I didn’t care. I already had many of his records and was so inspired by the way he played with gender confusion,” she said. “I found him so inspiring and innovative. Unique and provocative. A real Genius. His music was always inspiring but seeing him live set me off on a journey that for me I hope will never end.”
