WATCH: Ariana Grande Is Afraid Her New Album Title May Disappoint Fans
She’s got to be “careful” with her Arianators.
Ariana Grande’s third studio album is set to drop this year, but first it’s got to go through some major changes. Grande revealed the album title “Moonlight,” to fans over the summer, but now it seems like the singer is having second thoughts.
Last night (Jan. 14, 2015), Grande stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote her new Mac Cosmetics makeup line, where she and Jimmy Kimmel got to talking about her fans. Kimmel pointed out her fans, who have dubbed themselves “Arianators,” have recently become obsessed with the controversy surrounding the title of her upcoming album.
“Oh my god yes,” Grande said, “you know, a really long time ago I was convinced it was going to be called ‘Moonlight’ because its one of my favorite songs that we did for the album,” she explained. “And now, as we’re wrapping things up, of course I’ve been writing and singing, we’re at the final stretch…now there’s this other song that has thrown me for a whirlwind and I love it so much, it’s changed everything,” she said.
Grande wouldn’t reveal the name of the song because her “Arianators” haven’t heard it yet. “It sounds like you’re living in fear of these people,” Kimmel joked.
