No one told him this wasn’t a good idea…
Update 6:38 PM ET: Zac Efron has since apologized in a statement shared on his Instagram. “I have nothing but the greatest admiration and respect for Dr. Martin Luter King,” it reads. “I realize that last night’s post was completely insensitive and I apologize to anyone who I may have offended. So sorry. Z.”
He has also deleted the original post.
This weekend Zac Efron reached a major Instagram milestone — 10 million followers. While celebs thank their followers for support all of he time, most celebrities have enough sense not to do it on the day where we remember a civil rights icon, let alone lump the two together. Unfortunately, Efron must not have that much sense, because that’s exactly what he did.
