Amy Schumer Accused of Stealing Jokes From Fellow Female Comedians
Is Amy Schumer a joke thief?
Three comedians are claiming that the Trainwreck star has been stealing their material for years after a video of comparing Schumer’s jokes to other comedy star’s surfaced online.
Wendy Liebman, Kathleen Madigan, and Tammy Pescatelli took to Twitter Tuesday night (Jan. 19, 2016) and accused the 34-year-old of ripping off their work for her Comedy Central show, Inside Amy Schumer, as well as her HBO stand-up special.
“Between Amy Schumer doing 1 of my best jokes on her HBO special and this meme of my joke, I’m done with social media,” Liebman wrote in a now-deleted tweet, according to comedy site The Interrobang.
Pescatelli then chimed in, “What has always been amazing to me is that she purports to be a feminist and yet only steals from other female comedians. If we call her on it we are ‘jealous’ or career shamed. Be successful. WE want you to do well, just do it will your own material. BTW she blocked me.”
Madigan wrote, “Wow. Finally. Get ready for a shit storm.”
Though all three women have since removed their tweets, Madigan’s retweet of a Twitter user supporting the comedienne’s accusations has remained.

Liebman has backtracked on her accusations, insisting that she never actually claimed Schumer was stealing her jokes.

As for what Schumer thinks of all this? The Emmy winner insists she has never plagiarized or taken material from other artists.
On my life, I have never and would never steal a joke.
