Amy Schumer Denies Joke Theft, Offers Polygraph Test as Proof

Amy Schumer is done with theft accusations.

The Trainwreck star took to Jim Norton’s Advice Show on SiriusXM’s Opie Radio on Thursday, Jan. 21 to defend herself against claims that she had stolen material from other comedians in her acts.

“I would never, ever do that, and I never have,” Schumer professed, backing her tweet stating that she has never and would never steal a joke. “I have to come up with so much material for my TV show, this movie, stand-up. And I’m so careful. I will literally take a polygraph. And I just would never do that. That would be so stupid for me to do that.”

Schumer conspires that Tammy Pescatelli, one of the comediennes claiming ownership on her jokes, is burnt over their previous encounters that might have left a bad taste in her mouth. “I think [Tammy] is upset I blocked her on Twitter a couple years ago because she was unkind to my best friend, Rachel Feinstein, and I didn’t like how she treated Rachel,” says Schumer. “I don’t think she’s got much going on, this is my guess. I think people get upset by success.”
