WATCH: Steven Avery Speaks Out for the First Time From Prison

He believes the real killer is still out there.

For the first time since Making a Murderer premiered on Netflix, it’s subject, Steven Avery is speaking out. Yesterday (Jan. 21, 2016), a local Milwaukee news station received a three-page note from Avery, in which he maintains his innocence and responds former fiancee Jodi Stachowski’s accusations.

Avery addresses accusations made by Stachowski during an interview with Nancy Grace last week, where she admitted she believed Avery is guilty and claimed to have been abused by the 53-year-old convict. Sticking with his belief that he’s been set him up, he believes the state paid his former fiancee to say those things. “How much money Jodi get to talk bad!” he writes in the note. “The state $.”

Avery also continues to maintain his innocence, warning Teresa Halbach’s real killer is still out there. “The real killer is still out there. Who is he stalking now? I am really innocent of this case and that is the truth!!! The truth will set me free!!!!!!!”

See Avery’s hand written letter in the segment above.
