February 11 Is Basically National Kanye West Day
That sound you hear? That’s the sound of Kanye West about to take over the world.
As previously announced, West’s new album, Swish, his first since 2013’s critically-acclaimed Yeezus, will see release on Feb. 11, 2016. But this is Kanye “I Have Two Kids With Kim Kardashian” West we’re talking about, so don’t expect a typical, banal album drop. According to Pitchfork, West will premiere his new album in full live from Madison Square Garden in New York, and the event will be streamed to movie theaters across the world.
It is unclear what form this event will take: a live stream of the album in full? A performance of the album from start to finish? But if you consider yourself a betting person, consider putting some money down on the fact that the debut of Yeezy Season 3 will play a heavy role in the proceedings. (My guess? Swish will soundtrack a Yeezy Season 3 fashion show.)
So that we’re all clear: Feb. 11 will include a new Kanye West album, a new Kanye West clothing line, and a new Kanye West concert event that will be streamed all over the world. So basically a national Kanye West holiday. (Impressive, though it’s no Adele playing six nights at the same venue later this year.)
