Nick Carter Receives Lawsuit from Florida Bouncer, But This Fellow Backstreet Boy Has His Back

As the saying goes, “Bros before DUIs.”

Skylar Carden, the bouncer who was assaulted by an intoxicated Nick Carter in Key West, has filed a lawsuit claiming that the former Backstreet Boy was “striking and choking” him as he was escorted from the Hog’s Breath Saloon on Wednesday, Jan. 13. According to TMZ, Carden’s attorney calls Carter a “backstreet thug” who has inflicted mental and physical anguish on his client.

Carter ominously spoke out to TMZ last week on his arrest, telling the tabloid, “I’m just a guy trying to enjoy some vacation time down here in Key West, and the truth will come out.”

Meanwhile, fellow Backstreet Boy AJ McLean spoke in his buddy’s defense to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of The Finest Hours“We’re all human, we all make mistakes, we all put our pants on the same as everybody else,” says McLean. “It’s just sad now because of social media … there’s no way to keep anything secret. If you mess up, everybody knows.”

McLean leveled with Carter, recalling his own struggle with addiction in the past.

“For me, back when I was really kinda messing up, there wasn’t Facebook and Instagram and Twitter, so mine was all kind of in-house. Now, it’s sad. You really can’t get away with anything.”
