It’s Official: Netflix Confirms ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival with Alexis Bledel, Lauren Graham and More

Stars Hallow, oh how we’ve missed you.

In case you weren’t aware, the Gilmore Girls revival was not confirmed — until now. Following speculation and many reports, Netflix confirmed on Friday (Jan. 29, 2016) that the beloved series is happening — and with original stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, and Kelly Bishop. Other stars set to return include Sean Gunn as Kirk and Keiko Agena as Lane.

There’s no title yet set for the series, but the revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes. Netflix’s official Instagram page did share this photo, though.

Also, following Netflix’s announcement, Graham a.k.a Lorelai Gilmore took to Twitter to finally confirm the news she’s been waiting to share with everyone.

The only sad news in all this: It seems unlikely that Melissa McCarthy will resume her supporting role on the show given how much her star has risen in the years since the show wrapped in 2007. But, what’s Gilmore Girls without the beloved Sookie St. James?

Who knows, though — maybe she’ll surprise us with a guest appearance! Until then let’s just be super grateful that this revival is really, really happening.
