For Some Reason, Kim Richards Is Going on Lifetime’s New Reality TV Show to Argue and Cry With Her Daughter
We already foresee how horrible of an idea this is, and feel deeply uncomfortable by Lifetime’s strange ways of exploitation.
Controversial (aren’t they all?) former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards is heading back to reality television, this time to argue with her daughter, Kimberly Jackson, in an attempt for reconciliation (we think??).
The troubled 51-year-old, who was arrested twice last year (once in April, for trespassing, public intoxication, resisting an officer, and battery on a police officer at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and again in August, for alleged shoplifting), and has well-documented her struggles with sobriety, will be appearing on Lifetime’s new reality TV show, The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition, along with her 21-year-old daughter.
The Mother/Daughter Experiment is a new series starring six sets of celebrity mothers and daughters, who will work with therapist Dr. Debbie Magids in an attempt to resolve some long-standing family drama, repair relationships, et cetera through eight weeks of intensive therapy, all while living in the same house, all while being filmed. At least, that’s the way it appears in the teaser (below).
Why they define these other pairs as “celebrity” mothers and daughters is also unclear (in addition to Kim, we’ve got Heidi Pratt, Courtney Stodden, K-Fed’s ex Shar Jackson, Jessica Canseco, and a Bad Girls Club girl Natalie Nunn… so, no offense), but anyways.
We’re not quite sure who thought this was a great idea and signed off on it, or why this poor woman is being subjected to this morally questionable TV show by Lifetime in the first place, but either way it’s super emotional. So alas we present to you proof in the form of an high-strung teaser video:
So, get ready for this mess. Or don’t. It comes out March 1 at 10 p.m. ET on Lifetime. Yay?
