Cindy Crawford Announces Retirement from Modeling

It’s the end of an era.

Just shy of her 50th birthday, Cindy Crawford is making some major career change, namely, she’s officially done with modeling. The supermodel, who’s career has spanned more than four decades, spilled the surprising news in a recent interview with United Airlines’ Rhapsody Magazine, explaining she didn’t want to keep having to reinvent herself.

“I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore,” she told the mag. “And that’s okay. I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.”

As to be expected, the supermodel is ending her career on a high note as the face of Balmain Paris alongside Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer, in her last campaign.
