Vanessa Hudgens Receives Outpouring of Love and Support After ‘Grease: Live!’ Performance and Father’s Death

Vanessa Hudgens was absolutely electrifying(!) in last night’s TV production of Grease: Live!, just a day after her father’s death.

The 27-year-old High School Musical alum received tremendous support from fans and other celebrities alike for putting on a brave face during the live musical, in which she absolutely slayed in her role as Rizzo, Rydell High’s beloved resident bad girl, and performed in her late father’s honor. Before she stepped on stage, social media was abuzz with grief and love for Hudgens in the wake of her father’s death from stage 4 cancer, more willing to be forgiving of any missteps she’d make during the live act than they would’ve otherwise been (after all, live TV performances have often been made social media’s punching bag for the night, just ask Peter Pan Live!). But any passes weren’t need: Hudgens was perfection, especially during her chill-inducing performance of “There Are Worse Things I Could Do.”

Watch her sing below:

Her Grease: Live! co-stars Julianne Hough (as Sandy) and Aaron Tveit (as Danny) were likewise amazing, especially during their dance sequences. Watch them perform “You’re the One That I Want” below:
