WATCH: Helen Mirren Has Some Choice Words for Drunk Drivers in Budweiser Super Bowl Ad and It’s Incredible
The stately actress knows how to serve an insult — nice and cold.
Budweiser Super Bowl ads usually aim for a big-hearted message about love or family, or real friendship. Not this year.
Today, the beer giant debuted their game-day commercial featuring none other than British actress Helen Mirren, and she has something to say to all the drunk drivers out there.
“If you drive drunk, you — simply put — are a shortsighted, utterly useless, oxygen-wasting human form of pollution, a Darwin award-deserving selfish coward,” the 70-year-old declares.
The matronly performer is seated in a red leather booth with a burger and the signature beer in front of her as she speaks directly to viewers.
“Now, the chances are you’re a fun, solid, respectable human being,” she says amiably. “Don’t be a pillock. Your friends and family thank you.”
The commercial seems poised to get viewers talking about drunk driving during the big game, and let’s hope it does.
