Kate Winslet Talks About How Leonardo DiCaprio Has Changed Since ‘Titanic’: ‘I Think He’s More Handsome’

When you’re one of the most unforgettable onscreen couples in film history, it’s hard to shake the obvious chemistry! Even after all these years.

Kate Winslet recently shared her thoughts with People on how her two-time costar Leonardo DiCaprio has grown and changed since they made Titanic together.

“He’s a stronger actor in this moment than he’s ever been,” Kate said. “I think he’s more handsome than he’s ever been. And he feels, to me, the most settled he’s ever felt, in himself, right now, which is quite strange, really, given that there’s a lot happening around him.”

The actress shared Leo’s qualities that have endured their twenty-year friendship.

“He’s a solid, loyal person,” the 40-year-old actress said. “He’s a great friend, he always has been, and not just to me, but to everyone around him. He still has friends he had when we made Titanic.”

Both Winslet and DiCaprio are enjoying a prosperous awards season. They each took home Golden Globes this year; Winslet for her role in Steve Jobs and DiCaprio for The Revenant. And both are nominated for Oscars this time around.

Winslet made a point to mention that, although Leo’s career is at an all-time high, he has more perspective than he used to.

“He’s quite centered and calm, and that’s different to the way he was 20 years ago.”
