Julie Delpy, fresh off of apologizing for her diversity comments, is joining J.K. Simmons in the comedy The Bachelors. Simmons will play a recent widower from Northern California starting over in L.A. This is an ensemble production, so expect some more seasoned thespians to be joining the fold soon. Fresh off her wondrous turn as Maz Kanata in Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens, it appears Lupita Nyong’o could be taking on another interplanetary role. The Oscar-winning actress is in talks to be in Intelligent Life, a science fiction thriller about a U.N. worker who would represent humanity if ever there were alien contact. The U.N. ambassador falls in love with a woman who turns out to be an alien, presumably played by Lupita. [Variety]

The cast of Fifty Shades Freed got a new addition. Arielle Kebbel will be joining the titillating trilogy’s final installment. Kebbel is best known for role as Dwayne Johnson’s love interest on HBO’s Ballers. She’ll be playing Gia Matteo, a beautiful architect who Christian Grey hires to build their home.
