WATCH: Jessica Williams of ‘The Daily Show’ Has a Message for Beyoncé Haters

Fall back, fall back.

Like it or not, Beyoncé‘s having a great week. While the stans continue stanning, critics have taken to issue with her Super Bowl 50 halftime show that featured Black Panther-inspired costumes, Malcolm X references and Black Lives Matter commentary. Jessica Williams decided that someone should speak out in defense of the Queen Bey of the Beyhive on The Daily Show to put naysayers in their place once and for all.

Williams began by combatting the notion that race did not need to be brought up in Super Bowl discussion. “Race was brought in because Beyoncé was brought in,” says Williams. “And brace yourself, you might want to sit down for this, but Beyoncé is black. As a black person, you walk around every day constantly reminded that you are black. We’re more likely to get paid less, we’re more likely to get sent to prison and we’re more likely to win a dance competition. What? It’s not all bad.”

She took on Rudy Giuliani’s commentary suggesting that the Super Bowl’s content should be wholesome because it’s targeted to middle America with one simple quip:

“You know what’s in the middle of America? Ferguson, Missouri.”
