Here’s What You Need to Know About the ‘Deadpool’ Post-Credits Scene
Spoilers ahead. (Obviously.)
Even though Deadpool has only been in theaters for a day, there are already big plans for its sequel.
As previously reported, the new Ryan Reynolds movie will be getting a follow-up treatment. However, thanks to the Deadpool’s post-credits sequence, it has been revealed that beloved X-Men character Cable will appear in the second installment. Deadpool himself announces this after the movie’s end credits, saying [via Cinema Blend]:
Oh! I can tell you one thing, and it’s a bit of a secret. The sequel? We’re gonna have Cable. Amazing character. Bionic arm, time travel! We have no idea who we’re going to cast yet, but it could be anyone. Just need a big guy with a flat top. Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, Kiera Knightley? She’s got range — who knows? Big secret, shhh. Oh, and don’t leave your garbage all lying around. It’s a total dick move.
Deadpool has already smashed a box office records for an R-rated Thursday preview and February preview with a Thursday evening gross of $12.7 million at 2,975 theaters. It beats out the $8.6 million made by the previous record holder, 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey.
