Grammys 2016: Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg, and More Artists Who Have Never Won a Grammy
Many of our favorite mainstream artists have earned their spot as Grammy Winners, but there are several others who have surprisingly never received their deserved recognition.
Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, and The Weeknd are amongst some of this year’s nominees who have never won a Grammy in past nominations. Sheeran has been nominated a total of ten times, including his four nominations this year. Minaj has also gotten ten total nominations with three this year. The Weeknd has only gotten one nomination in the past, but he’s getting recognized with seven this year including Album of the Year.
Snoop Dogg is also getting a nomination this year for Album of the Year, but only as a featured artist on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly. The rapper has gotten a total of 16 nominations, and is tied with Brian McKnight as artists with the most Grammy Nominations and no win.
Although Katy Perry is not nominated for a Grammy this year, the “Dark Horse” singer has been nominated 13 times in the past. To some this might be a surprise since Perry was listed as the third highest paid celebrities of 2015 by Forbes, making her the highest paid musician.
There are also some of our favorite classic artist who have been nominated in the past, but have never won a Grammy, including Morrissey, Patti Smith, Tupac Shakur, Jimi Hendrix, and Björk. Björk is actually nominated this year for Best Alternative Music Album.
