WATCH: ‘SNL’ Takes on ‘Formation’ in Hilarious Skit About ‘The Day Beyoncé Turned Black’

SNL had the perfect message for people upset with Beyoncé.

This week’s (Feb. 13, 2016) Saturday Night Live took on the racial controversy over Queen Bey’s black-power-themed new single “Formation” — and Super Bowl performance — in the best way possible. In a trailer for a fake movie called “The Day Beyoncé Turned Black,” the show’s white cast members are shown reacting in shock over the song, not having realized Beyoncé is black.

The skit unfolds like a hilariously dramatic horror movie and sees white people fleeing their homes, hiding underneath desks, and screaming in fear. They even freak out about Scandal’s Kerry Washington, who is “rumored” to be black, as well.

“For white people, it was just another great week,” a voiceover begins the clip. “They never saw it coming. They had no warning. Then, the day before the Super Bowl, it happened.”
