Gwen Stefani made history last night at the Grammys – and how she did may surprise you.

The Voice coach and former No Doubt singer premiered her music video/ode to boyfriend Blake Shelton “Make Me Like You” during last night’s awards show, but the twist in this premiere is that it was completely live!

Stefani teamed up with Target and music video director Sophie Muller to film the video live, in one take only, and during a 4-minute commercial break. What’s remarkable about her video (which is the official Vevo video for “Make me Like You”) is that Stefani roller skated through each set design, going through different wardrobe changes in the process.

According to Adweek, the video was shot on a 32,000-square-foot sound stage on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, Ca, with a crew of about 250 people.

Stefani said in a statement: “Wow! That was the fastest four minutes. It’s so amazing how much goes into one take. I couldn’t be more proud of our team, especially Sophie, the cast and the crew for their hard work over the past few weeks. This entire project with Target has been such an incredible experience, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with them.”

Stefani’s forthcoming album This Is What the Truth Feels Like is due out March 18, and Target’s exclusive deluxe version includes four bonus track. It is now available for pre-order here.
