David Bowie Dead at 69
It's a sad day in the music world as David Bowie has passed away.

Actor George Gaynes passed away just two years shy of his 100th birthday on Monday in North Bend, Washington, according to Variety.

The 98-year-old star of film and television was probably best known for his portrayal of the foster father, Henry Warnimont, in the hit ‘80s sitcom, Punky Brewster, starring a young Soleil Moon Frye as his adopted daughter.

Gaynes also starred in seven of the Police Academy films as bumbling Commandant Lassard.

One of his earliest breaks on the big screen included a role as a soap opera actor in Tootsie, starring opposite Dustin Hoffman and Jessica Lange in 1982.

Gaynes starred in multiple television series as well as a total of 35 films during the course of his long-running career in Hollywood.
