Celebuzz Cocktail Hour: Make a Toast with Perrier-Jouët Champagne
It is that time of the week again — who else is ready for a cocktail?

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Celebuzz Cocktail Hour.

This time around we are featuring The Sassy Lassie, from Usquaebach, which takes a sweeter approach to Scotch, playing off the spirit’s cocoa notes with a bit of chocolate!

Interestingly, the difficult to pronounce name Usquaebach (Oos-Ke-Bah) is derived from the ancient Gaelic phrase ‘usage beatha’ (or ‘the water of life’), which literally translates to our modern word, ‘whisky’!

The Usquaebach ‘Reserve’ Premium Blend used in this recipe is created from a rare blend of whiskies aged 16, 17 and 18 years resulting in a complex and rich Scotch that can add depth and character to a diverse range of cocktails outside of this decadent treat.

Fresh and floral on the nose, it offers sweet hints of vanilla, and a smooth palate of round toffee and mellow spice.


The Sassy Lassie

The Sassy Lassie from Usquaebach


2 oz Usquaebach Reserve blended scotch whisky
1 oz Amaro Lucano
2 strawberries
Dash of chocolate bitters
Shaved dark chocolate
Slice of strawberry


Add strawberries and bitters to a mixing glass and muddle. Add ice, Scotch and Amaro. Stir until very cold. Strain into a cocktail coupe. Garnish with chocolate shavings. Fit strawberry slice onto the rim of the glass.
