TV Casting Update: Justin Long Joins the ‘Dream Team’; Geoff Stults Preps for ‘The Kicker’

It seems like every day, more comedy pilots are announced and a few just got some key roles filled on the road to production. Here’s the latest casting news from around the internet featuring some familiar faces like Justin Long and Nick D’Agosto.

Today, Geoff Stults was tapped to star in the CBS comedy pilot The Kicker from the brilliant trio behind 30 Rock, Tina Fey, Jack Burditt and Robert Carlock. Stults will play Daryl Thorkelson, an NFL football kicker who has a habit of rubbing everyone the wrong way. Justin Long has signed on to be the lead in Dream Team, a comedy pilot with ABC. Long will play Marty Schumacher, a children’s soccer coach who took his last team to the national championships. NBC’s comedy pilot The Trail finally got its lead. Nick D’Agosto will play a young, big-city lawyer faced with a ripped-from-the-headlines trial in a small South Carolina town.
