Zayn Malik Denies Copying Lil Wayne for ‘Mind of Mine’ Album Cover

Newly-solo Zayn Malik is still just trying to find his image in the music biz, and he’s now in some hot water over his Mind of Mine album cover.

Malik’s first solo album cover is an ode to his childhood. Using a black and white childhood photo of himself with his arms and hands photoshopped to depict his tats, his new cover art is strangely familiar: Lil Wayne did more or less the same thing with his cover for Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV.

After facing backlash for allegedly ripping off Wayne’s concept, the “Pillowtalk” singer took to Twitter to debunk the claim that he copied the rapper.

He also retweeted this tweet pointing out that Malik isn’t the first or last artist to use childhood/toddler photos for album covers:
