Demi Lovato Is Not Impressed that Taylor Swift Donated $250,000 to Kesha

Kesha Will Not Be Released from Her Sony Recording Contract
This legal battle has come to a devastating conclusion

According to some, pocket change doesn’t count towards actual change.

Taylor Swift, mother to all females, decided to show support for Kesha amid her legal battle against Sony and her producer, Dr. Luke, who allegedly abused the “Tick Tock” singer sexually, physically and emotionally.

“In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time,” Taylor’s spokesperson told E! News.

Kesha’s mom confirmed the donation on her Twitter account:

Swift’s donation did not impress fellow female pop vocalist, Demi Lovato, who made her sentiments clear on Twitter:

Lovato took to the comments section of a Taylor Swift Instagram fan page to further defend her commentary against a fan who called her out for her “hate”. “How the f*ck am I making this about myself? At least I’m talking about it. Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn’t grow up with money and def haven’t made as much as her. At least I speak up about sh*t that’s uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7.”

The Swift fan responded by saying that the shady subtweet was unnecessary when Kesha’s family was publicly appreciative of the donation.

“I didn’t shade Taylor,” responded Lovato. “If you take it that way than fine. I’m just tired of seeing women use ‘women empowerment’ and ‘feminism’ to further brands without actually being the ones that have the uncomfortable conversations.”

Both Swift and Lovato voiced their support for Kesha on Twitter following Friday’s court ruling that she would not be released from her contract with her longtime Sony producer, Dr. Luke. TMZ reports that Dr. Luke’s are still supportive of Kesha’s work, having invested $11 million into her career and are “committed to continuing to promote her work”. However, they also call her attacks a “trial by Twitter”, engaging in a “vicious smear campaign to ruin Luke’s reputation” and using “outright lies” to “extort a contract renegotiation and money”.
