Naya Rivera Says Breastfeeding Made Her Boobs ‘Lopsided’
Motherhood has changed Naya Rivera in more ways than one.
According to the former Glee star, having son Josey with actor Ryan Dorsey has not only shifted her views on life, but also changed how her cleavage looks these days. After attending the Vanity Fair and Fiat Young Hollywood Celebration in a plunging white gown by Tadashi Shoji on Tuesday (Jan. 24, 2016), the 29-year-old jokingly said that five-month-old gave her “lopsided boobs” from all the breastfeeding she’s done.
She wrote on Instagram after the event, “Shout out to my son for the lopsided boobs. LOL #breastfeeding #momlife He is SO worth it.”
Rivera documented learning how to breastfeeding her son in her People blog last December. Calling it quite “a trip,” the actress revealed no one really taugh her how to breastfeed during her pregnancy and she had to suddenly learn after giving birth.
“One minute there’s nothing going on with your perfectly perky boobs and the next a nurse is rolling yellow stuff out of your nipple and putting it in your baby’s mouth. Things like achieving a proper latch, combating engorgement, and practicing different holds soon became my sole priorities,” she penned. “At times I started to feel like I was only a tit to Josey and there was many a time I would walk in the door to a crying baby and immediately have to strip and feed.”
“It wasn’t all bad though, the bond between a mother and baby when you’re breastfeeding is incredible and something no one else shares with your baby,” she continued. “There’s also something amazing about the fact that you are sustaining a human life solely with your body. The benefits of breast milk for babies far outweigh the negative side effects for Mom.”
Rivera and Dorsey welcomed baby Josey in September 2015. He is the couple’s first child together.
