Addressing the group gathered at the Women in Film Pre-Oscar party, Jennifer Lawrence and Patricia Arquette addressed the issue of pay inequality in the entertainment industry.

The event was the Perrier-Jouët and Women in Film’s 9th Annual Women Film Pre-Oscar party at Hyde Kitchen + Cocktails in Los Angeles, CA.

Arquette told USA Today:

When we talk about pay inequality it’s not about Hollywood pay inequality. It’s not about actresses’ pay inequality; it’s about 98% of the industry has inequality.

As for Lawrence, she also addressed the issue in her speech, by saying:

We’re starting a conversation, we’re getting a dialogue going. … I didn’t know I was going to be (speaking). … Equal pay for women!

Guests in attendance enjoyed Perrier-Jouët champagne with the evening culminating in a toast by Women in Film LA President Cathy Schulman.
