Khloé Kardashian Opens Up About ‘Humiliating’ Break Up Experience
Khloé Kardashian has things to say about heartbreak.
In a new post on her app, the reality star opens up about break up. Kardashian, who recently revealed that she had called it quits with James Harden because he had cheated on her, says it’s “humiliating” to split up with someone when you’re in the public eye.
“When you break up in the public eye, it’s almost like you have to go through it twice: privately and publicly. I’ve been there, for sure, and it’s hard,” she writes. “You could be having a fight that you don’t necessarily want your family or friends to know about, and then all of a sudden it’s like the whole world knows your business. It’s humiliating.”
She continues, “There’s so much that you want to keep private, just for the sake of your own pride, and when details get out to the tabloids or whatever, it’s like pouring salt into an open wound. It definitely makes it hard to close that chapter of your life.”
Though Kardashian has walked away from a relationship over infidelity in the past, the 31-year-old claims not all of her failed romances have ended because of a scandal.
“I actually think it takes more courage to move on if there’s not a concrete reason you broke up,” she says. “I wish people would realize that a breakup doesn’t always mean cheating or abuse—sometimes you just know things aren’t working, and you have to remove yourself from the situation. It takes so much strength to move on without a huge reason.”
Previously, Kardashian revealed that she had no idea estranged husband Lamar Odom has been unfaithful to her for the majority of their marriage. She also claimed that she once caught an ex-boyfriend in bed with two other women.
“Lamar was so great at making me feel like I was the only one and I’m this princess, so I didn’t suspect anything,” she told Howard Stern on his radio show in January. “He was so good. He was really crafty. It’s disgusting.”
