It’s Happening! Disney Channel Confirms ‘High School Music 4’ in the Works

We’re headed back to East High!

Today, the execs over at Disney Channel shared that they are going to make a fourth High School Musical movie. Not only that, they’re on the hunt for the next slew of talented kids to star in it!

Entertainment Weekly reports:

Disney Channel has announced kick-off for a nationwide casting search for High School Musical 4, a follow-up to the wildly popular High School Musical franchise (which just celebrated its 10 year anniversary with a cast reunion). The Disney Channel Original Movie franchise concluded in 2008 with the theatrical release of High School Musical 3: Senior Year, which bid farewell to stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and more.

Jeffrey Hornaday, who worked on Disney’s Teen Beach Movie franchise, will direct and choreographHigh School Musical 4, which will once again take place at East High and follow the school’s famous Wildcats (as well as their rivals, the West High Knights). Dan Berendsen (Baby Daddy) will write the screenplay alongside Peter Barsocchini, who wrote all three High School Musical movies.
