Sorry Octomom, but a proud mama Maremma sheep dog gave birth to the biggest litter of sheep dog puppies in the state of California.
John Costanzo of Napa Grass Farmer told CBS San Francisco that the vet who delivered the pups told him that Stella, their mother, set a record for the largest litter of her breed.
“Six to eight is normal,” said Costanzo. “Seventeen is insane.”

The puppies, 11 boys and 6 girls, will go to farms in California where they will protect livestock according to a report from NBC.
