TV Casting Update: Jenna Fischer Has a New TV Husband, Geena Davis Needs an ‘Exorcist’

We looked everywhere for the latest TV casting news and compiled the all the highlights. There’s some big projects on the way for Geena Davis, Bruce Greenwood and Jenna Fischer!

The Exorcist is the latest property to get a remake. The classic ‘70s horror film is about to become a TV show and veteran actress Geena Davis has been tapped to star. The show will follow two priests (Alfonso Herrera and Ben Daniels) as they combat a family’s demonic possession. Davis will play Angela Rance, a strong matriarch attempting to hold her family together when beset by biblical evil. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Bruce Greenwood, most recently known for his role as Gil Garcetti in American Crime Story, has been cast in a new drama pilot from CBS titled Four Stars. The story is about two powerful military families in Florida and how their choices effect the country’s national security. Greenwood will play General Buckley, a four-star general who oversees special ops missions all over the world. Wilmer Valderrama and Ana Cruz Kayne have been cast as the children of General Rodriguez, Buckley’s rival. [Deadline]

Matt LeBlanc is set to star in a multi-camera sitcom for CBS and The Office’s Jenna Fischer has come on board to play his wife. The untitled piloted centers on a stay-at-home dad struggling with the full-time duties of parenthood. Fischer will play his (presumably perky) medical lab technician wife. [TV Line]
