Who knew the Oscar winner had a silly side?

God bless Genovia!

Garry Marshall, the director of 2001’s The Princess Diaries, has confirmed that planning is being done for the third installment of the popular fairytale franchise. According to the filmmaker, Oscar winner Anne Hathaway, who starred as Princess Mia Thermopolis in the original flick and its 2004 follow-up, is even on board with the idea.

“I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan,” Marshall tells People. “Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it.”

Though nothing has exactly been greenlit by Disney just yet, it’s presumed that any production will happen after Hathaway has given birth to her first child with husband Adam Shulman.

As for other familiar faces who might make a return? Marshall adds that fans shouldn’t rule out the possibility of the ever-so-handsome Chris Pine just yet.

“Maybe,” Marshall says of the actor, who appeared in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement prior to breaking out in the Star Trek reboot. “He’s quite big now, you know.”

Finger crossed, folks!
