50 Cent Will Host His Own Variety Show that Will Involve Magic
He’s got the magic schtick.
Rapper 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) announced that he will be hosting, starring in, and executive producing a variety show on A&E called 50 Cent Presents, featuring “sketches, stand-up, reality, stand-up, reality experiments, music, magic, dance, and celebrity guest appearances”, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project is being described as a “potential showcase series” in the vein of In Living Color.
“I grew up watching variety shows and am excited to put my own spin on the format,” said Jackson. “I hope everyone is ready to bring their talent forward; I want to show the world the best of the best.”
Elaine Frontain Bryant, head of A&E’s programming, had nothing but praises to add. “Leaning into A&E’s legacy in showcasing the arts, we’re setting out to redefine the traditional variety show,” she shared. “50 Cent is the perfect partner to refresh this classic format. He is a true tastemaker across industries and we are excited to see his impressive showcase of talent.”
