WATCH: Emma Watson Beatboxing in the Name of Feminism While Lin-Manuel Miranda Freestyles Is Everything
“This is gonna be bad.”
But in fact, it was amazing. Emma Watson beatboxed on the fly while Hamilton star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda freestyle rapped about gender equality in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8th, and in promotion of Watson and the UN’s “Women’s Solidarity Movement for Gender Equality,” HeforShe.
The result? An unforgettable ode to feminism in a song that we wish would keep going.
“You’re an amazing beatboxer,” Miranda commented, to which the Harry Potter star responded, “He’s lying.
He challenged, “I’m sure they were beatboxing on set during those movies,” referring to Harry Potter. Watson joked, “Oh yeah, English school kids, that’s what we do all the time. We just beatbox.”
After their amazing duet, Watson revealed, “I’m so embarrassed now, I’m literally the color of a tomato. I’m so red. No one ever ask me to do that again. These are the lengths I will go to for gender equality.”
