Fugitive Paris Attacker Salah Abdeslam Captured Alive
The news was confirmed on Twitter.
Salah Abdeslam, the last remaining fugitive from last year’s tragic Paris attacks, was wounded and captured in a police raid in Brussels on Friday, March 18.
Theo Francken, the Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration, also confirmed the news via social media. “We got him,” he wrote on Twitter.
The world’s most-wanted fugitive, 26, was wounded in the leg during his shootout with police in the Molenbeek district of Brussels on Friday. Abdeslam has been wanted for 126 days after the attacks were carried out on November 13.
Footage from the raid showed security personnel in masks and all black outfits posted at the block where the shootout occurred. Reporters who were on the scene shared that there was white smoke coming from one of the rooftops of a building on that street.
