WATCH: Gal Gadot Talks Scoring the Role of 'Wonder Woman'
Gal Gadot feels like the "luckiest girl in the world" for nabbing the role of Wonder Woman.

Meet the key players in the standalone film!

If you’re planning to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this weekend, then you’ll be getting a look at the female badass who’s about to storm the DC universe: Wonder Woman.

The suits at Warner Bros. have big plans for Gal Gadot’s on-screen heroin, and already have a standalone film about the Amazon demigod in production.

Today, Entertainment Weekly released a peek at not only how Diana Prince (Wonder Woman’s alter ego) will be depicted in her origin story, but also the powerful women who groom her for womanhood…and battle.

The image features the four key women of the film: Gadot brandishing a sword and shield while wearing a Roman-esque bit of gold armor highlighting the fit actress’s long, strappy-sandaled legs.

Also featured is Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielson) looking epic in knee-high boots, a flowing fur-trimmed vest, and a crown. Hippolyta is Diana Prince’s mother and is protective of her only daughter.

Holding a long spear and rocking a long cape is Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli). And last but definitely not least is General Antiope (Robin Wright) posing with a long bow and a terrifying/sexy expression.

Patty Jenkins, the film’s director spoke with EW about crafting the look of these Amazon warrior women and the roles they play in the film.

“[Wonder Woman] is the only child they raised together,” said Jenkins. “And their love for her manifests in a different way for each of them.”

As to why these trained fighters are wearing high heels?

“It’s total wish-fulfillment,” she said. “I, as a woman, want Wonder Woman to be hot as hell, fight badass, and look great at the same time…”

Hard to argue with that!

Wonder Woman struts into theaters on June 23, 2017.
