Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards Wants to Keep Her Personal Life Personal: ‘People Should F*ck Off’

“F*ck off and have respect.”

‘Kay?

Little Mix’s gorgeous members Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are Cosmopolitan UK’s May 2016 cover stars, and they get real in their interview with the mag about relationships, touring, the X-Factor, and more.

Edwards, who until last year was engaged to Zayn Malik, opened up specifically about her personal life post-Zayn:

“When it’s your personal life, something you’re going through, I think people should f*ck off and have respect,” she said. “At the end of the day, we are real people going through real things.”

Jade, who recently started dating Jed Elliott from The Struts, is now facing the difficulties that comes with being in a long-distance relationship while touring.

I’m scared. He’s going to America and we’re headed all over the place, too. It’s going to be really hard but we will FaceTime and hopefully he will come and watch us. We’ll see.

Little Mix formed nearly four years ago after winning the X-Factor in 2011 and went on tour for the first time in 2012. On their X-Factor partying days, Leigh-Anne revealed juicily:

I used to have the crown for partying in the group. Jade and I probably got off with every boy on The X Factor tour. I mean a kiss of course… I’m joking, we weren’t that bad. But we had fun.

But things are different for the girls now – they’re closer, and of course stronger with time. Jesy revealed that she used to feel down on the X-Factor because people would make negative comments and jabs about her weight.

It used to make me cry. I was shocked at the time. I was a young girl and I thought, ‘What have I done to you? Why do you have to be mean to me? I’m not a nasty person and I took it to heart. Some of the things people said were disgusting. It really affected me.

Perrie also used to have a hard time with the negative comments and social media trolls.

At the beginning, I used to search ‘Little Mix’ and ‘Perrie’ online. You can read a thousand lovely comments about yourself and then one bad one sticks in your head forever. It’s like being at school with a group of really nasty people. Someone once wrote that I had ‘cankles,’ and now I have issues with my ankles. I think they are the biggest, chunkiest things in the world. If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t talk!

Their upcoming tour will be different than the first time around, now that Edwards is single.

I’m going to have a drink. I’ll be awake late with Leigh-Anne this time round. Times have changed. Rewind to four or five years ago and I’d have been like, ‘No we don’t really party’. Now I’m like, ‘Yeah!’
