Nick Young, D’Angelo Russell, Kobe Bryant Respond to Young’s Leaked Iggy Azalea Cheating Confessional

When your private life makes its way to the court…

Nick Young spoke out on Wednesday evening following the unearthing of video where he confesses that he cheated on his fiancée, Iggy Azalea, leaked by his teammate D’Angelo Russell.

“I think it’s best me and D’Angelo handle our situation in a private manner. It’s something we need to talk about,” Young told reporters, and added to the Los Angeles Times, “What happened is what happened. We’ve got to work on it.”

Meanwhile, Russell repented in hindsight to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski. “I am sick,” said Russell. “I am sorry about recording the video. I can’t repeat myself enough on that: I am sorry I recorded that video. I feel horrible. I wish this never happened.”

“The thing is, we record ourselves doing dumb stuff all the time,” he continued. “On the road or home, wherever. We go back and watch what we did and said and laugh at ourselves. I guess I just never thought that these pranks we pull on ourselves could have bigger consequences. That was a big lesson I learned.”

Prior to Wednesday’s game against the Miami Heat, Russell realized the impact of his actions in a discussion with a Miami Herald reporter.

Teammate Kobe Bryant chimed in on the unfortunate matter creating tension on and off the court. “It’s tough. There’s a lot to learn. I’m sure [Russell will] evolve and grow and be better from it,” he told the team’s reporter. “The guys are understanding. We are all human beings. Everybody makes mistakes. Important thing is to show compassion.”

Azalea expressed gratitude toward Russell in a shady tweet yesterday following the series of misfortunate events. “D’Angelo Russell is trending,” she wrote. “I actually liked his film. Thanks bro.”
