Janet Jackson Postpones World Tour Indefinitely for Family Planning with Husband Wissam Al Mana

Bittersweet news for Janet Jackson fans.

The 49-year-old singer announced in a video post on Twitter this morning (April 6) that she was postponing the second leg of her Unbreakable World Tour due to family planning with husband Wissam al Mana.

Jackson told fans:

We’re in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change. I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family. I’m gonna have to delay the tour. Please if you can try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.

She didn’t quite confirm that she was pregnant, however. She ended by thanking her crew, dancers and band, as well as Live Nation for their loving support and partnership. And of course, her fans.

Jackson’s tour was set to resume in Birmingham, England on March 30. She previously postponed 29 U.S. tour dates due to an unspecified surgery, denying rumors that she had cancer. Last month, Jackson’s European dates were canceled and removed from Ticketmaster’s website.

Jackson and al Mana, a billionaire Qatari businessman, wed in 2012.
