Kesha’s Case Against Sony and Dr. Luke Dismissed in Court
Kesha has lost her war against Sony.
A New York judge has thrown out the singer’s case against Dr. Luke, according to TMZ. The judge reportedly rejected Kesha’s claim that she was a Sony “slave” with Dr. Luke as “her master,” because the company made other producers available for her to work with. The news also comes just days following Kesha’s claim that Sony offered to release her in exchange for dropping rape allegations.
Moreover, the judge decided that Kesha was not a victim of a hate crime. “Although [Luke’s] alleged actions were directed to Kesha, who is female, [her claims] do not allege that [Luke] harbored animus toward women or was motivated by gender animus when he allegedly behaved violently toward Kesha. Every rape is not a gender-motivated hate crime.”
It isn’t completely over since Kesha does have a case pending against Dr. Luke in Los Angeles, Calif. However, she’s definitely hoping the verdict isn’t as heartbreaking as this one.
