Hailey Baldwin Doesn’t Want to Be Known for Dating Justin Bieber
Are they or aren’t they? Either way, Hailey Baldwin doesn’t want to be defined by it.
The model, who has yet to confirm her relationship with Justin Bieber despite their love of making out with each other, says she doesn’t want to be only known as the singer’s rumored girlfriend. Though she dodges questions about Bieber yet again in the latest issue of Marie Claire, the 19-year-old does admit that it’s “hard” to be with someone who’s famous.
“I don’t want attention out of dating somebody. Texts started coming through, crazy phone calls…it’s hard to date somebody in this industry,” she tells the publication. “You have to have really thick skin and be very strong. You have to focus on the person and nothing else.”
When it comes to her own personal feelings, Baldwin confesses to keeping her emotions bottled up as opposed to wearing her heart on her sleeves.
“I’m the type of person where I let things slide,” she explains. “I push it to the side. And then finally explode every so often, but by myself. I’ve been in situations with friends [when] someone will have said something that really hurt my feelings, so I sit there choking tears back.”
Previously, Bieber, 22, referred to Baldwin as “just a friend he kisses.”
“[She’s] someone I really love,” he told GQ earlier this year “We spend a lot of time together”
“I don’t want to put anyone in a position where they feel like I’m only theirs, only to be hurt in the end,” he added of why they haven’t made things official yet. “What if Hailey ends up being the girl I’m gonna marry, right? If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it’s always gonna be damaged. It’s really hard to fix wounds like that. It’s so hard … I just don’t want to hurt her.”
