Gwyneth Paltrow on Chris Martin Divorce: ‘It’s Hard to Let Go’

Gwyneth Paltrow is opening up about her marriage — and its subsequent “conscious uncoupling” — again.

While appearing on CBS This Morning and Live! With Kelly and Michael this Wednesday (Apr. 13, 2016), the mother-of-two spoke about her split with singer Chris Martin after 10 years of marriage and how they manage to remain friendly.

“We really concentrated on the idea of trying to be a family,” Paltrow, who was previously having dinner and going on vacation with her ex, explained.

“We are a family,” she continued. “We are really putting [our kids] first.”

Though Paltrow, 43, and Martin, 39, are on good terms, the actress noted that it took a lot of “restraint” not to be bitter about the separation.

“You try to reconnect with love and friendship,” she said, adding that she wants her son and daughter to “see me celebrate their dad.”

Speaking with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, Paltrow also admitted that the break-up wasn’t so easy at first. Despite their current family dynamic, the split did hurt the Oscar winner at first.

“There’s always pain and hurt and a sense of loss and grief,” she confessed. “It’s hard to let go and try to make a family.”

Paltrow is now dating Glee and Scream Queens co-creator Brad Falchuk. Meanwhile, Martin is romantically linked to The Tudors actress Annabelle Wallis.
