Jennifer Lopez Kinda Shades Marc Anthony, Says It Was ‘Not Easy to Find Forgiveness’
In her latest interview with W magazine, the singer opened up about her divorce with the father of her two children. Though she insisted she’s dedicated “to make things right” with her ex for the sake of their kids, she also inadvertently showed her hand and seemingly threw some shade at the Latin star.
“When it comes to work, I never get tired. But with personal failures, I have thought, This is too hard. When my marriage ended, it was not easy to find forgiveness. It wasn’t the dream that I had hoped for, and it would have been easier to fan the flames of resentment, disappointment, and anger,” she said. “But Marc is the father of my children [8-year-old twins], and that’s never going away. So, I have to work to make things right. And that is, by far, the hardest work I do.”
Recalling a question about if dancers are truly better in bed than musicians and actors, the 46-year-old explained that musicians — maybe singers even — will never be as great at sex than other people.
“Musicians are too self-absorbed. They are too concerned with themselves to be great in bed,” she said, before continuing about her marriage.
“I hung in there for seven years,” she elaborated. “I knew very quickly that it wasn’t the right thing.”
Though J.Lo, who is currently dating dancer Casper Smart again after a brief breakup, has gone through three divorces in her lifetime, she still dreams about getting married one day.
“We got together and broke up and are now together again,” she says of her current beau. “I still think about getting married and having that long life with someone. I love the movie The Notebook. A dream of mine is to grow old with someone.”
Aside from Anthony, Lopez was previously married to Ojani Noa from February 1997 to January 1998 and to backup dancer Cris Judd from September 2001 to June 2002.
