Naya Rivera Reveals How She Dropped 60 Pounds of Baby Weight
It only took four months!
Naya Rivera is finally spilling the secrets to her amazing post-baby body. The new mom opened up to Fit Pregnancy, admitting what while she completely “let myself go,” during her pregnancy, it didn’t take long to get back into a routine once baby Josey finally arrived. River cut sugar snacks as soon as her bundle of joy arrived, and credits eating healthy, breastfeeding and low impact exercise for helping her drop the first 30 pounds, but the next 30 pounds weren’t as easy.
“My closet was divided in half: On one side were maternity clothes and on the other side were clothes I thought I would never wear again,” she admitted. So when the actress got serious about getting her body back, she wasn’t going to leave it to chance and hired a personal trainer. “I know I’m lucky. Not all moms can afford one,” she confessed. “But I’m not really self-motivated. And I don’t know what to do at the gym. I always feel lost. [Without a trainer] I’d probably just end up not working out, and then go to the steam room.”
Rivera paired weight training with her trainer, with high-intensity spinning classes three times a week, and with the help from a little thing called muscle memory, she was back in her pre-baby leather pants in just four months! “I was, like, ‘Yes!’”
