This Is What Dinner with Kate Middleton, Prince William and the Obamas Looks Like

The Royal Couple are breaking bread with the First Couple!

Kate Middleton and Prince William hosted a private dinner for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at their home in Kensington Palace on Friday (Apr. 22, 2016). Joined by Prince Harry, the group met on the steps of Apartment 1A out in the rain.

“Sorry about the weather,” William joked as he met with the President.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shook hands with the Obamas, while Prince Harry greeted the First Lady with a double kiss on the cheek. Though the President offered Middleton, who was wearing an LK Bennett dress, an umbrella, she insisted that he use it on his wife instead.

Prince George even made an appearance at the low-key gathering. The tiny tot, who appeared in a portrait with Queen Elizabeth II this week, was seen in a hallway wearing a robe and pajama pants just before the start of the dinner, which was arranged by William on behalf of his wife and brother.

“The three of them have built up a relationship with the President and First Lady over the years,” a source told People about the meal. Earlier that day, the Obamas had lunch with the Queen to celebrate her recent 90th birthday.
