Rihanna Honors Prince in Concert: ‘Let’s Shine Some Light to Heaven’

“Today is a very sad day in music.”

Rihanna dedicated her song “Diamonds” in tribute to Prince during her ANTi concert in Calgary, Canada on Thursday night (Apr. 21, 2016). The singer performed the song on a purple stage as the audience shone a light to heaven for the late music legend who passed away suddenly at the age of 57.

“Today is a very sad day in music,” Rihanna said before her emotional tribute performance. “A sad day to music lovers, musicians, fans all over the world who lost one of the greatest legends, Prince. We will miss you. A lot of us have started making music and listening to music because of Prince, so right now I just wanna honor him, me and my crew, and you guys. Let’s shine some light to heaven for Prince right now.”

#Calgary thank you for helping me pay my respects to the legend #PRINCE #RIP #ANTIWORLDTOUR
