Sophie Turner: ‘Everyone in L.A. Has an Agenda’

Maisie Williams Discusses Sexuality and the 'Frightening' Aspects of Hollywood
This Game of Thrones actress is opening up about what's going on in her noggin.

After six seasons, the actress is looking back at how her time in Westeros has affected her.

Sophie Turner, known far and wide for her portrayal of waify Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, had a talk with Nylon Magazine recently where she not only promoted the hit HBO show, she also shared her thoughts on her collaborators and the incestuous nature of the entertainment industry.

“Everyone in L.A. has an agenda. They want to make friends with you because of who you are. It’s like ‘We’re famous! Let’s be friends!’ I’m like: ‘But I don’t even know you!’”

But that doesn’t mean Turner isn’t excited to meet new people in the industry, including her co-stars in X-Men: Apocalypse. In fact, the first time she met Jennifer Lawrence, Alexandra Shipp, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender was at a pretty special place…

“A cast coordinator organized activities for us, and so the first time we met was at a Drake concert,” Turner said. “We bonded so much. I consider them all my new best friends.”

The 20-year-old actress admitted that, although she loves performing and is enjoying her career, she wouldn’t mind some anonymity once in a while.

“I’d like to work at Starbucks. I love the idea of having a job for a good long time, a schedule, a regular routine,” Turner shared. “I’d love to interact with people, too, and not be constantly worried that they might recognize me.  Don’t get me wrong, I adore acting, and I’ve always wanted to do this, but there is a lot of loneliness attached to it. Sometimes, you just want to go unnoticed, and I have this desire to be able to talk to people just for the sake of talking, and not because they know who I am, you know?”
