Sources Say That Prince Did Not Leave a Will Prior to His Death
Let the race to the fortune commence.
Sources close to Prince tell TMZ that the singer did not write up a Last Will and Testament prior to his untimely death at the age of 57, which could leave his career earnings in the hands of his six siblings and his half-brothers and sister. Insiders tell the tabloid that “various professionals raised the issue of a will with Prince but he never had an interest in drafting one”, and all of the contacted family members attest to this being so.
Minnesota law says that his estate would go to his siblings, the closest living relatives, in the event that he did die without a will. Prince had 8 brothers and sisters, and only one was a full sibling. Though two of his siblings are dead, their children would be entitled to the same amount as their parents would have been. Estimates on the worth of his estate ring in somewhere around $150 million.
