LISTEN: Kesha and Zedd’s ‘True Colors’ Collaboration Is Everything You Had Hoped For

Kesha Joins Zedd for Surprise Coachella Performance
Kesha is not letting her legal troubles affect her ability to perform.

Welcome back, Kesha!

Though she’s still not free from her contract with Sony and alleged abuser Dr. Luke, the singer is making her voice heard — literally — in her newest collaboration with Zedd. After teasing fans with a few photos of them working in the studio together, the duo have released a teaser for the new version of Zedd’s single, “True Colors,” featuring Kesha’s vocals.

“This is more than a song. It’s a declaration of my truth,” Kesha writes on her Facebook.

Kesha first performed the song during Zedd’s set on the first weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier this month. As previously reported, the track is an official Zedd track featuring Kesha, which Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe Records and RCA had both agreed to.

According to Zedd, neither artist had to resort to using loopholes help Kesha release new material. The DJ first offered to work with Kesha, who hasn’t released any new music since 2012’sWarrior, after she was denied release from her contract with Dr. Luke.

The full song is slated to be released on Friday, April 29.
